Christmas is getting closer...

And I am really enjoying it. It is very different from Christmases past , obviously. I did manage to mail out the cards and the tree is standing but my gifts will be late and the cookies.... well, definitely there won't be such a variety and they might be late as well!!Sofia is not registering any of the Christmas stuff yet. She likes to look at the lights on the tree but that's about it. I am sure it will be more of a deal for her next year... when all of our glass ornaments will stay packed up and we'll have to decorate with kid-friendly ornaments! That reminds me - we'll have to redecorate our whole house, I never realized how many sharp edges and kid-dangerous spots we have here!! We still have some time but oh boy, many things will have to go...

Vianoce sa blizia a ja si to naozaj uzivam. Je to ine ako predosle vianoce, samozrejme. Podarilo sa mi poslat viaenocne pozdravy a aj stromcek je postaveny, ale darceky pridu neskoro a pecenie.. no urcite nebude tolko druhov ako kedysi a asi tiez budu neskorsie nez normalne!

Sofia si vianoce este moc nevsima. Rada sa pozera na svetielka na stromceku ale to je tak vsetko. Urcite to ale bude ine buduci rok... ked vsetky sklenene ozdoby zostanu v krabiciach a my budeme zdobit s ozdobami bezpecnymi pre deti! A to mi pripomina ze som si minuke uvedomila ze budeme musiet zmenit dekorum v celom dome! Mi az teraz doslo kolko mame ostrych rohov na nabytku a miest kde by si mala moh;a ublizit! Este mame troska casu ale vela veci bude musiet zmiznut....

Sofia has a lot of patience with her parenrs...

Update

Hello everyone! I haven't posted anything for a while. It's been a little busy aroud here... On Sunday we went off island for the first time with Sofia. For those who are not familiar with Nantucket - it involves a 2 1/4 hr boat ride if you take your car, which we did. And I can tell you now - shopping wit an infant ain't real shopping! But we survived, manage to get about a half of what we wanted/needed. I consider that a success! On Monday we got our Christmas tree and even managed to put it up and decorate - took us mere 3-4 hours with feeding, changing burping, stoppping crying etc... :o) Here are some pictures of our fast growing, changing daughter. Is it just me or does she look more and more like mama? :o)

Ahojte vsetci! Uz som dlho nepisala, mali sme toho dost! V nedelu sme isli na pevninu, prvy krat so Sofiou. Pre tych co nevedia - trva to dve a stvrt hodiny na lodi! A nakupovanie s babatkomnie je ako normalne nakupovanie! Ale prezil sme, zvladli sme asi polovicu toho co sme si naplanovali - to povazujem za uspech! V pondelok sme boli kupit stromcek, aj sme ho postavili a ozdobili - trvalo nam to len zopar hodin (s prestavkami na krmenie, prebalovanie, grganie, kojensenie... :o) Tu je zopar fotiek nasej rastucej, meniacej sa dcerenky. Len sa mi to zda alebo vyzera viac a viac ako mamina??

I know, I seem to suffer from that thing parents get - they think their kids are the cutest, prettiest, the most adorable EVER! But, you know, mine really is! :o)

It is hard to believe that Sofia is almost 5 weeks old! I can't remember my life BB (before baby). I was also talking to a friend of mine about her birth (Sofia's, not the friend's, ha ha) and honestly, can't recall the pain! I know it hurt but (thankfully) I can't remember what it felt like. It is just amazing how our bodies just get on with it and our mind protects us from bad memories. I truly believe that if women were able to remember the pain, not many kids would have siblings!! I do remember screaming that we would NOT have any more kids towards the end of laboring... changed my mind as soon as I met Sofia, of course!

Here are some new pictures. We are planning to go off island Sunday for the first time since she was born. Not sure how that will go, so many issues to deal with (what to take with us, how will we feed, etc). Those of you who live or lived here on the island know very well what a pain in the a** it is to go off, even without a baby! We are also getting ready to buy our Christmas tree, I will be there wih the camera, of course! Baby's first Christmas!! Expect lots of pictures! And hopefully some videos at humyo.com as well!

Viem viem, vyzera to tak ze trpim tou chorobou novych rodicov - myslime si ze nase dieta je to najkrajsie, najmilsie, najuzasnejsie na svete! Ale moja dcerenka naozaj je!! :o)

Tazko mi je uverit ze Sofia uz ma takmer 5 tyzdnov! Uz si ani nepamatam ako sme zili PB (pred babom). Aj som sa rozpravala s kamaratkou o porode a vazne si nemapatam tu bolest! Je to uzasne ako sa nase telalen otrasu a idu dalej a nasa mysel nas ochranuje od zlych spomienok. Vazne si myslim ze ak by zeny boli schopne sipresne zapamatat tu bolest, nie vela deti by malo surodencov! :o) Ja si dobre pamatam ako som kricala ze uz NIKDY nechcem mat viac deti ku koncu porodu! A zmenila som nazor v momente ked som uvidela Sofiu, samozrejme!

Pridavam zopar novych fotiek. Chystame sa v nedelu na pevninu a veru sa aj bojim - prvy krat ideme s malou a nebiem neviem ako to dopadne. Ist na pevninu je komplikovane aj bez babatka, teraz musim rozmyslat co zbalit, ako budeme krmit cely den, atd. V pondelok ideme kupit vianocny stromcek, urcite dam fotky a hadam aj video sa podari! Sifinkine prve vianoce!!

We have been blessed with somany people visiting in the past month (can you believe she is already more than a month old??). Here is Sofia with my friend Kristina who herself is about to pop her little boy! Due any day! And one picture on Mommy, for good measure!

Mame stastie ze nas za posledny mesiac navstivilo vela znamych a priatelov. Verili by ste ze mala uz ma vyse mesiaca? Tu je s mojou kamaratkou Kristinou, ktora uz tiez coskoro bude mat babo - chlapca! A extra obrazok na mamine.

Sofia loves to sleep on Mom or Dad. As my parents say - not a good idea to get her used to that but could you help it? She looks like a little bug!!! :o)

Sofia strasne rada spinka na mame alebo ocinovi. Moji rodicia tvrdia ze to nie je dobre ju na to naucit - ale ako si to mame odopriet? Vyzera ako maly chrobacik! :o)

We still have our cat although she is getting neglected quite a bit, I have to say. But she is still a cutie!

Nasa uboha macka teraz moc pozornosti nedostava. Ale este stale je pekna!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Now that we have a little American in the house we have to start taking Thanksgiving more seriously! :o) This year we were honored to be invited to several places by our friends - to aunt Judi and uncle Greg, to Jean's house and last but not least - to Greg & Joy's place for a fantastic, yummy dinner! We all hope that those of you that celebrate Thanksgiving had a wonderful time and fulle expect that you ate and drank too much! :o) Now Chritmas can come!!!
